Sleek, high ponytails may look like the easiest hairstyle there is. But when you actually sit down to do it, you’ll understand what a task it is -- your ponytail isn’t as high as you would like it to be, there’s a bump of hair underneath or worst of all, it’s so tight that it gives you a headache.
High ponytail requires the right tools and a few tricks to look sleek and perfect. We are going to show you how to do that in a few easy steps. Take a look…
You will need:
- Hair ties
- Hold spray
- Bobby pins
Step 01: This hairstyle works best on second-day hair. If you’ve washed your hair, add texture by spritzing some dry shampoo or hold spray such as the Toni&Guy Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray to ensure your super high ponytail stays in place
Step 02: Gather your hair up at the crown of your head; if you have thick voluminous hair, flip your head over and then do it
Step 03: Hold the ponytail in place with one hand and use the other to brush out bumps and get a sleek look
Step 04: Once you have placed the ponytail at the centre of your head, use a hair tie to secure it in place. For a high and sleek look, it is recommended to use two hair ties
Step 05: Now, take a one-inch section of hair from the underside and wrap it around the base of the ponytail to hide the hair ties. Secure with bobby pins on the underside to hide everything
Step 06: Spritz some hair spray on an old toothbrush and comb to smooth out flyaways.
