Festive hangover is real, guys!

Just when we thought that we’d exhausted every bun and braid-style, Bollywood keeps bringing more to the beauty table. And no, we are not complaining! The latest addition to the innumerable bun-styles is a pouf braided bun that we recently spotted on actress Mouni Roy.

It wasn’t long ago that we discovered braided buns, thanks to Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, and we are now onto the pouf braided bun. It’s an upgraded version of the braided bun but looks ten times more elegant and classy. This chic hairstyle can complement your traditional outfits oh-so perfectly. So, make sure you bookmark it for the upcoming wedding season.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you ace this gorgeous hairstyle like a pro.

how to get mouni roys pouf braided bun

Step 1: Run a wide-toothed comb through your hair to get rid of any tangles. You don’t want tiny knots coming in the way of your bun-style.

Step 2: Use a rat-tail comb and run the pointy side horizontally from one ear to the other to create a seamless parting that separates your crown area from the front section

Step 3: Create a centre-parting with the front section. Start braiding on either side. Take the braids and pin them at the back of your head. Tug at your braids to make them look thicker and fuller.

Step 4: Next, section the hair on the crown of your head. Backcomb each of these smaller sections so that you get a bouffant-like finish on the crown.

Step 5: Smooth out the front side of the backcombed sections. Then, gather all the sections and secure it with the help of bobby pins just above the nape of the neck.

Step 6: Tie the rest of your hair into a ponytail. Place the ponytail at the nape of your neck because you’re creating a low bun.

Step 7: Braid your ponytail in a regular three-strand braid.

Step 8: Continue braiding till you reach the end and secure the braid with a clear hair tie.

Step 9: Wrap the braid around the hair tie to create a bun and secure the bun with some more bobby pins.

Step 10: Lastly, finish off by spritzing some hairspray to keep flyaways at bay and to hold your bun-style in place.
