Written by Fatema HabibNov 28, 2019
Braid-styles are having a moment in the glamour world, and being the beauty junkies we are, it only makes us want to experiment with new hairstyles every single day. Here’s one such hairstyle that has been around for a while now and looks absolutely bomb! Fishtail braids are a feminine, dainty hairstyle and can add some sass to your look, be it modern or traditional.
However, we’ve discovered an even better version of your regular fishtail braid. It’s the half-up fishtail braid! And no, it’s not as complicated as it sounds! To help you ace this perky hairstyle, we’ve got you covered with a step-by-step guide.
Step 01: Brush your hair to get rid of any knots. Then, reach for your curling iron to create soft waves. The wavy texture will only add more glamour to your hairstyle
Step 02: Start by tying your hair half-up and creating a topsy tail ponytail. A topsy tail ponytail is where you create a hole in the centre of your ponytail above the elastic band, take the tail and pull it up and through the hole. In order to tighten it, give it a good pull
Step 03: Now, grab a section of hair on each side of the ponytail and cross them over each other as though you’re creating an “X”
Step 04: While crossing from one side to the other, keep adding a new section of hair
Step 05: Continue making an “X” until you reach the end. Leave two to three inches of hair and secure it with a clear elastic band
