It looks effortless, playful and chic all at once. We’re talking about a hairstyle that we’ve been wearing since our childhood days. Although there have been several editions of it till date, it is the one hairstyle that never goes out of style. It’s the very versatile ponytail! You don’t need an occasion to sport this easy-peasy hairdo.
However, if you have medium-length hair but want to fake a super long ponytail, then we’ve got you covered. Yes, did you even know that you could create the illusion of a super long ponytail? Here’s a step-by-step tutorial to get it right.
Step 01: Start by smoothing out your hair using a wide-toothed comb. Make sure you get rid of all the knots in your hair that may come in the way of your hairstyle.
Step 02: If you want a slightly textured, wavy ponytail, then we suggest you first create some soft waves with the help of a curling iron before you start with the hairdo.
Step 03: Just how you would divide your hair for a half-up half-down, similarly, gather the hair on top of your head and add some from either side next to your ears.
Step 04: Now, secure the hair on top of your head with a scrunchie or a standard rubber band.
Step 05: Next, take the rest of your hair (leave out the top ponytail) and pull it all together into a second ponytail.
Step 06: Secure it with a tiny rubber band or a clear elastic. Let the second ponytail lie as flat against your head as possible.
Step 07: Lastly, fluff the hair of your top ponytail around so as to cover your bottom ponytail.
Step 08: Finish off with hairspray and scrunch your ponytail with your fingers for added texture.
