Before you start with the fishtail braid, you need to make sure your hair is ready for the hairdo. To do so, wash your hair with the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner. Step 1

Start by gathering your hair into a ponytail at the nape of your neck. Use a transparent elastic to secure it.

Step 2

Follow it up by splitting your ponytail into two sections.

Step 3

Now use your finger to separate small sections of hair from the outer edge near the elastic and then cross it on to the opposite side. Tighten the plait while holding two sections. Repeat with a small section from the other side.

Step 4

Continue to overlap sections from both sides of your ponytail going down till the end. But while you’re at it, make sure you pull small sections from underneath your braid to cross over. Also try to keep the size of the sections uniform.

Step 5
