Swap shower gel with a soap bar
Switching back to a soap bar from shower gels might seem a little difficult, but it’s not impossible. Our parents and grandparents have been using them for centuries. The reason why you need to make this switch is because most soap bars, including the gentle Dove Cream Beauty Bathing Bar, comes in plastic-free packaging. And believe it or not, but you can also replace shampoos with soap bars specifically formulated for your hair.
Swap excess water with micellar water
To get rid of dirt, makeup and oil that gets accumulated on your face throughout the day, you will usually reach out for cleanser and water. However, ample of water get’s wasted in this process. In order to avoid this, use micellar water to take off your makeup first and then go in with water to simply rinse your face. This will ensure minimum wastage of water. In fact, when you use micellar water such as the Ponds Vitamin Micellar Water D - Toxx Charcoal, you can skip washing your face altogether. Bed, here I come!
Be packaging conscious
You also need to be conscious about making packaging swaps. Invest in products that come in aluminium or glass packaging instead of plastic. Alternatively, look for brands that use recycled plastic for packaging their products. We are currently obsessing over the Love Beauty & Planet range. Their products are formulated using naturally sourced ingredients, are cruelty-free, vegan and packed in 100% recycled bottles.
Swap plastic combs with wooden ones
A wide-tooth wooden comb is a blessing and yet we have failed to recognize its importance. No matter what your hair type, you will benefit from it as it is gentle, stimulates the scalp and promotes blood circulation.
Invest in products that can be refilled
If you come across a brand that offers refillable beauty products, invest in it right away! Several brands also offer rewards on refillable schemes, so go ahead, take advantage. Save more pennies and the planet.
Let’s start with these small steps and do our little part in making the planet a better place to live in.
