Dark circles, puffiness and crow’s feet are some common eye concerns that people deal with on a regular basis. While there are a lot of reasons why you may be having one or all of these problems, the lack of a proper eye care routine is surely one of the biggest culprits.
Just like you care for the rest of your face and pamper it with a whole range of products, in the same way, it is really important to care for and pamper your eyes every single day.
Wondering where to start? Let us help you. Apart from using eye cream (which is the least you should do), here are some really simple yet effective tips to hydrate the delicate skin around your eyes.
- Remove your eye makeup gently
- Apply sunscreen
- Avoid waxing your eyebrows
- Regularly massage the eye area
- Include eye masks in your routine
Remove your eye makeup gently
Are you guilty of vigorously rubbing your eyes each time you remove your eyeliner or eyeshadow? If yes, we request you to stop right away. This is one of the main reasons why your eye area develops fine lines and wrinkles, leading to premature ageing. Simply place a cotton pad soaked in makeup remover on your eyes and gently wipe to get rid of any makeup.
Just like the rest of your face, your eye area is susceptible to sun damage too and should be protected using an SPF. You can either use an eye cream that is formulated with SPF or go ahead and apply your usual sunscreen; do what works for you. But if you’re using your usual sunscreen, be careful and see that it does not enter your eyes.
Avoid waxing your eyebrows
Each time you pull at your eyebrow skin, you end up damaging the topmost layer of the skin. Therefore, instead of waxing your brows, you could either resort to threading or tweezing as these methods are comparatively gentle and do not harm the skin as much.
Regularly massage the eye area
This is one eyecare tip that has been ignored by most of us. Massaging the eye area is a great way to get rid of puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and a lot of other common problems. Do this regularly for a few days and you’ll notice a difference in your skin.
Include eye masks in your routine
Similar to face masks, eye masks are a really great way to rejuvenate and replenish the undereye area. These masks deliver the essential nutrients and vitamins needed to protect and heal the delicate area and make it look plump and youthful.
