We all travel on a daily basis for work or college. Traveling on a daily basis not only tires us but also our skin. Your skin needs much more than a boring ol’ face wash at the end of the day.
Here are 5 changes you can make to help your exhausted skin after daily commutes.
Lots. Of. Sunscreen
When you’re traveling, you are obviously exposed to the sun and UV rays. Make sure you put on enough SPF before leaving your house. Sunscreen is not just to prevent skin from tanning, it also helps against premature wrinkles which is caused by UVA rays.
Scarves are your best friends
Whether you are riding a two wheeler or public transport, use a scarf whenever you travel. Scarves are a barrier between the dirt directly hitting your face. It also acts as a shield between your skin and pollution.
Make sure you use detox masks once or twice a week. Try masks like activated charcoal masks or bentonite clay masks. Ingredients like these help pull out dirt trapped inside the pores. Make sure you moisturise well after you rinse out these masks.
Invest in a facial cleansing brush
When you wash your face, it is not enough to wash off the dirt from within pores. Invest in a rotating face brush to wash your face and use it every night before bed. This will ensure you get rid of all the dirt and grime that has settled in your pores.
Carry facial mists or wet wipes
Facial mists and wet wipes are the easiest way to refresh yourself at any hour of the day. Carry a small travel size mist with you and spritz it on your skin whenever it feels dry or dull. If you don’t want to buy a facial mist, make your own with rose water and aloe vera gel. Aloe vera kills bacteria and rose water nourishes your skin.
