BB Trend Alert–80’s slicked back wet look hair and how to get it
In a world that is obsessed with beach waves and voluminous hair, the 80s slicked back wet look hair trend caused quite a storm. It was breaking the conventional hair trends by being edgy over feminine. Back in the 80s, slicked back hair was huge amongst men, but honestly, is there any men’s trend that a woman can’t pull off? Very recently, celebrities started sporting this much-needed comeback trend from the 80s and we couldn’t get enough. According to Jen Atkin, one of Hollywood’s ace hair stylists, the trend skyrocketed because it “portrays sophistication and confidence as the hair is off the face.”

If you want to try something edgy, fun and androgynous, give this hair trend a shot. As you know hard lines and defined hair is in.

How can you get it…

This trend is extremely ‘face shape’ oriented, and can add structure to your face if styled correctly. Even though it’s not the most ideal for heart or square shaped faces, a little extra effort into styling it can make it work.

Tip: For round and oval face shapes, you can toss the hair straight behind, but for heart shaped or square shaped faces, you can toss it sideways.

Step 1: As this trend is all about playing with sleek hair, prep your hair with the TRESemme Keratin Smooth with Shampoo and Conditioner that helps you get straight, smooth hair.

Step 2: Let the hair dry naturally and spray some texturizing spray. We love the TONI&GUY Casual Sea Salt Texturizing Spray. Next, start blow drying it to enhance the texture. Use a boar bristle brush for this.

Step 3: Divide your hair into different sections. Then, starting from your crown, use a fine-toothed comb to comb your hair backwards, one section after another.

Step 4: Now, toss all the teased hair backwards and set it. Grab some hair wax and fix your fly-aways and baby hair. The hair wax will also lend it a nice, wet texture.

Step 5: Use a hair spray to further hold the slicked-back hair in place.

Step 6: Once the hair is nice and firm, use a shine spray for a high-shine wet look.

Step7: For a smoothed out effect, straighten the remaining hair from mid-length all the way to the bottom.

And you’re done! Slick back those tresses easily with these steps. We love this hairstyle best with pant suits! How would you wear it?
