Beyoncé
When the entrance is that late it’s got to be worth the wait, eh? Just when everyone thought that Beyoncé had given the Met Gala a miss, she made her grand entry looking every bit the stunner in a bejewelled Givenchy gown that left little to be imagined. With a high ponytail and Jay Z by her side, Mrs. Carter posed for photos and proved that despite being well into mommyhood she continues to be the feisty Queen Bey!

Rihanna
No one that slays a Red Carpet better than our Ri Ri, or as the hashtag says, ‘#slayanna’. The polar opposite of her look at the CFDA awards last year, she covered up (a little too much) in a canary yellow gown by Chinese designer Guo Pei, incidentally, also the chosen colour of royalty in China. The highlight (apart from all the memes that she spawned) was that sensational gold head piece that put to rest any questions about her being royalty!

Cara Delevingne
Never one to play by the rules, Cara put her love for wearing pants on the red carpet on display yet again, in a Stella McCartney jumpsuit (with a black, bejewelled bra none the less) instead of a ball gown. Her idea of incorporating the theme into her look? Accessorizing with oriental body art – Chinese birds and blossoms – in the form of fake tattoos across her arms and chest. Given her love for getting inked (she has a lion on her finger,) we wouldn’t be surprised if one of them turned out to be real.

Rosie Huntington
How many fashion misses is a Victoria’s Secret model allowed? An all-round stunner, Rosie Huntington’s nude, shimmering Atelier Versace gown gathered some bad press this time around (from us as well) mainly because while the lower half of the gown looked flawless on her svelte silhouette, there were some obviously awkward lines and lack of support and shape at the chest. We admit, it did warrant a double take but sadly, for the wrong reasons.

Zendaya Coleman
She might be a Disney star but given her sartorial fashion choices both at public events and otherwise, Zendaya didn’t disappoint. She wore a custom Fausto Puglisi dress whose plunging neckline was only trumped by the fact that it was a mini skirt from the front but the back revealed a super long silk train dotted with intricate handwork in the form of sun motifs crafted in velvet and crystal. And if that wasn’t dramatic enough, this princess stepped out with a tiara to match. We’re calling dibs on fashion icon in the making!
