BB: What defines modern bridal fashion?
Monisha: Modern bridal fashion is light in weight, fuss-free, easy-to-handle and yet is high on style and luxury.
BB: What should a bride keep in mind while buying and wearing modern designer pieces like short cholis and gowns?
Monisha: Whether it’s a choli or a gown, one should always keep one’s personal style and body frame in mind. They should look for versatile pieces that could be worn again as bridal couture is a huge investment.
BB: The most crucial advice you would like to give any bride?
Monisha: It is important to feel good from the inside as well. Lingerie occupies a special place in your trousseau. With the wide variety in lingerie available, it’s not hard to find ones that are meant for your body type and give you a great fit.

BB: What defines modern bridal fashion?
Parika: Functionality and elegance form the essence of modern bridal fashion. Willingness to experiment with different styles, silhouettes and palettes along with a beautiful amalgamation of traditional and current trends defines modern bridal fashion.
BB: How do you go about creating modern outfits for brides such as gowns?
Parika: I build my entire collection around body type, colour and fabrics. A lot of brides buy jewellery beforehand so I try and incorporate those details and work around the same. Functionality and versatility are also important factors I consider.
BB: What according to you are the best modern bridal pieces for a trousseau?
Parika: It should have wearable pieces in addition to heavier garments for occasions. A bride should ensure that she includes shirts, blouses, midi skirts, maxi dresses, summer dresses and pants in her daily wardrobe. Taller, thinner women should include a few jumpsuits and palazzo pants. When it comes to Indian pieces, ensure that you have tunics, kurtas and anarkalis for any occasions with your in-laws. No garment is as beautiful and elegant as a sari so include it if you feel comfortable in them.

Ritika: Bridal fashion has evolved over time and brides now prefer experimenting with different variations in Indo-western wear. Modern day garments such as jackets, capes, crop tops paired with lehengas, stitched saris and sari gowns have become very popular.
BB: How do you go about creating modern outfits for brides such as gowns?
Ritika: I create sari and swathe gowns that are contemporary draped saris. I like keeping most of my designs current with modern silhouettes and intricate embroidery inspired from fusion and Indian embellishments.
BB: Which are the best modern bridal pieces for a trousseau?
Ritika: A gown is definitely a very classic piece. Investing in a sari gown or a heavily embellished jacket or cape works well too.
