Jabong Unveils A Collection Inspired By Bollywood's Latest
Written by Deepa SajnaniApr 21, 2014
Whether or not you want to admit it, Bollywood has inspired fashion tremendously over the years. Whether it is the B-Town beauties dancing around trees in chiffon saris or the urban fashionista wearing Prada, movies and style work hand in glove!
This month, India’s leading online fashion destination, Jabong, unveiled its latest collection inspired by the new Bollywood hit Main Tera Hero at a suburban hotel. The event was replete with all the drama and glitz that B-wood is synonymous with. One of the film’s leading ladies, Ileana D’Cruz, and the very macho Varun Dhawan, walked the ramp looking their stylish best and even shook a leg in a dance performance that was part of the event. Nargis Fakhri, who also stars in the movie, was missing in action but her co-stars made up for it in plenty.
Mr. Parveen Sinha, co founder of Jabong.com, addressed the media and brought to light the growing demand of online shopping in the country. Offering quick buy options, cash on delivery and customisable features, the portal has redefined the avenue of shopping from home. And what’s more, is that it also offers convenient return and refund (yay!) options too! Mr. Sinha also added that the company’s “association with Main Tera Hero and other Bollywood movies is our way of bringing the latest and fresh fashion closer to our customers but with a better accessibility.”
The collection features funky t-shirts, colourful pants, printed dresses, bright footwear, trendy sunglasses, cool watches and eye-catching jewellery—all of it inspired by the movie. So get ready to style yourself like Sreenath (Varun), Sunaina (Ileana) and Ayesha (Nargis Fakhri)!
Changing my career to fashion at the age of 27 was a risk that I'm glad I took! I don't think there is any substitute for hard work. I can be overly shy and self conscious one day and feel like I can conquer the world the next. You have to try my caramel pudding and chicken soup and don't even dare playing charades with me—I'm super competitive. I love what I do and am always looking for a way to take it up a notch!
