Little wonder then that every fitness enthusiast around the world swears by simple green smoothies. For those who cringe at the bitter taste of spinach and kale, here’s the good news. Every green smoothie has a sweetener that lends it a taste. Be it apples, bananas or pineapples, green smoothies are made all the more nutritional and tasty with these additional fruits that are a must in your smoothie. We’re all guilty of skipping the veggies in our meals, aren’t we? Green smoothies are a smart way to have your greens. So if you have trouble getting your daily requirement of vegetables, this is the way you need to have them.

We often blame our choc-a-bloc schedules for skipping our meals or missing an intake of healthy foods. But the good thing about a green smoothie is that it takes barely few minutes to prepare. You just need a blender, process the greens and fruits and drink it.

The best thing about these smoothies is that the taste of the greens is hidden because of the fruits that are added to it. Plus, fruits bring in all the more nutritional value to your smoothie!

A green smoothie is a great food pre or post workout because it’s packed with energy boosting nutrients. The energy you get from eating just the fruit can be short-lived because of its sugar content. When they’re mixed with green vegetables, the sugar is balanced out.
Here’s a green smoothie recipe you can try out…
What you need: 2 bunches of spinach, 1 apple cut into pieces, 1 cup milk or water, 1 tablespoon chia seeds and 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
Preparation: Add all these ingredients to a blender. Process until it’s smooth. Serve fresh and save some in the fridge for another helping later!
