And they're all renditions of cuts that have dominated iconic eras in the past. Bookmark these for your next appointment at the salon!

1. The bixie

A fusion of two of the most-coveted hairstyles of all time, the bixie is an amalgamation of the bob and the pixie. Complemented by undertones of the 90s, the hairstyle features a short cut with a little extra length toward the top. Versatile in the way that it can flatter varying textures, and add volume and shape to a relatively shorter cut, the bixie is perfect for those who don’t want to spend hours doing their hair, but still want to look chic.

2. The heavy-layered cut

This hairstyle is a rendition of Rachel Green's multi-layered cut from Friends Defined by face-framing pieces grazing the chin, the style is claiming centre-stage as it accompanies celebrities' carousel of photos on Instagram, with model Hailey Bieber making a case for the cut every now and then.

3. The iconic bangs

Bangs can take your look several notches higher without much effort. A powerful switch-up from the familiar, this statement-making cut has maneuvered over a hundred years and underscored multiple celebrities' looks in the process. The most recent example has to be Squid Game actress Hoyeon Jung’s trendy bangs that had fans gawking. It’s safe to say that the face-framing cut is going to compliment iconic moments well into 2022 too.

4. The shoulder-length shag

From dramatizing bangs to accentuating curls, the shag flatters a bewildering number of textures and types. 2022 is about to witness shoulder-length versions of the shag reign supreme. And we cannot wait!

A relatively straightforward style, centre-parted hair has been defining a lot of looks these days. From Kendall Jenner's slick updos to Gigi Hadid's voluminous blowouts, the style is here to dominate. If you're not going into 2022 with a pair of scissors hovering over your tresses, try changing your part instead.
