December is fast approaching, and with it, the wedding season. It’s only typical of us to direct all of our attention towards picking the right outfits for each occasion, and experiment with different makeup looks to up the glam factor. But with these formalities consuming most of our time, we tend to forget about our hair. Let’s change that. It’s time to bid adieu to your standard hairdo, and style your tresses into glamorous hairstyles. Here are five effortless hairstyles that you must bookmark for the upcoming wedding season.

01. A sky-high ponytail

You cannot go wrong with a classic sky-high ponytail. Not only is the style relatively simple to replicate, but it’s also glamorous. To ace this hairstyle, ensure your hair is absolutely dry. Start by spritzing some shine spray all over your tresses, and continue to blow-dry them with a brush to get rid of bumps. Gather your hair into a sky-high ponytail, and secure all of it with a hair-tie, and that’s it. You can use a setting spray to tame stray strands and flyaways. Finish the ends with a straightener or curling iron.

02. A face-framing updo

An updo isn’t quite complete without a few collar-grazing pieces framing your face. This hairstyle is ideal for those who aren’t too fond of the slicked-back bun. All you have to do is tie your hair back into a low bun and pull out some tendrils to add an ‘oomph’ factor to the otherwise plain look. You can use a flat iron to curl the pieces just a little. Imagine yourself flaunting such a fun hairstyle with your embellished lehenga!

A lot of us prefer low-maintenance hairstyles - and here’s one that’s just as elegant as it is effortless. You need to wash your hair before you attempt this one. Divide your damp hair into smaller sections, and brush them to rid your hair of tangles. Use a heat-resistant product to protect your hair from damage, and apply a dollop of smoothing oil to each section before - and after - every run with the blow-dryer. Finish off by spritzing your hair with setting spray. If you desire a sleeker look, use a flat iron to settle your hair. If you’re going all-out with your outfit and makeup, and are looking for something minimalistic, this is it for you.

04. A bubble braid

This is the trendiest style of all. For this braid, just follow the steps of a classic sky-high ponytail, and begin to secure hair-ties along the length of your hair. Make sure you’re placing them at an equal distance from each other. Now, use your fingers to pull at each section. This will loosen the tightly-secured hair between the hair-ties, and create a bubble-like effect. You can frame your face by pulling out a few tendrils. Tame any flaways with a setting spray. Perfect for a mehendi, no?

If you like soft, subtle styles, this is it for you. Just pull your hair back into a low ponytail - this is the base of the style - and twist it up toward the top of your head. Secure it with pins, barrettes, or any accessories of your choice - and, folks, that’s it. Frame your face with a few strands if you want a little more going on with the style. If your makeup is simple, you can adorn your hair with studded barrettes or a fresh flower to amp up your look.
