Lakmé Fashion Week seems to have kicked off in earnest, and we honestly cannot contain our excitement. We missed live shows, and we're so glad that with the opening show and day 1 of Lakmé Fashion Week 2021 behind us, we've been blessed with gorgeous looks — both in terms of the fashion and beauty. The one look that specifically stuck out for us?
Mrunal Thakur, the showstopper for JJ Valaya. The actor was the showstopper for the veteran designer's newest collection, 'Rumeli', and while the outfits were regal and timeless, the makeup was something else altogether. Wearable for all things festive and wedding-related, Mrunal Thakur's show-stopping look is a dream for brides-to-be, or even those just looking to amp up the glam on festive days. Want to recreate it for yourself? Read on as we decode Mrunal Thakur's makeup look from day 1 of Lakmé Fashion Week 2021.
For your face...

Step 01: Mrunal Thakur has a minimal, dewy base, so we're going to recreate the same using the Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation SPF 45. But wait, that's not all! To bring in the glow, we suggest you mix a few drops of the Lakmé Lumi Cream into your foundation, since it will make your skin get that festive glow easily.
Step 02: To keep the base minimal, simply go in with the bronze shade of the Lakmé Absolute Highlighter - Moon-Lit on your cheekbones, your temples, and your jawline, and use the lighter shade to add a gorgeous sheen to the high points of your face — on top of your cheekbones, on the tip of your nose, and on your Cupid's bow.
For your eyes...

Step 01: Start by taking the Lakmé Absolute Spotlight Eyeshadow Palette - Sundowner, and go in with the lightest shimmery shade under your brow bone and over your lid, to build a base for your eyeshadow.
Step 02: Next, go in on the pinkish-peach matte shade and blend it on your crease. This will act as a transition shade, and ensure that you have no harsh lines once you're done with your eyeshadow.
Step 03: With a clean, fluffy blending brush, dive into the matte, orange shade and start building your outer corners and your crease with it. The orange is a beautiful, festive-appropriate shade that looks fantastic on Indian skin, so there's literally no way you can go wrong with this!
Step 04: Next, it's time for a little bit of finger-painting! Take the shimmery shade that's under the pinkish-peach matte one, and sweep a generous amount over the centre of your lid to create some dimension.
Step 05: With the lightest shimmery shade, go in once again under your brows, and in your corners, for just the right amount of bling.
Step 06: Now, take the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate - Black, and start by drawing out your upper lash line. Make sure you don't tight-line it!
Step 07: With a blending brush, start blending the kohl outwards to create a soft, subtle smokey effect — brownie points if you can make the edges look like a cat-eye!
Step 08: Finally, with the same kohl, apply it tightly on your lower lash line, making sure to not spread it out too much. Join the kohl on the upper lash line and the lower lash line near your inner corner to create a perfect, outlined effect, and you're good to go!
For your lips...

Step 01: Mrunal Thakur's perfectly defined lips are easier to attain than you think... All you need is the Lakmé Absolute Precision Lip Paint - Alluring Nude! Using the expert brush that comes with the lip paint, start by tracing the outlines of your lips. Don't be afraid to over-line, but make sure it looks natural!
Step 02: Next, it's time to colour in the lines! Since the lip paint is all about a velvet matte texture, it will glide on your lips easily, and won't sit heavy either. Once you're done, you can rest assured that this one's not going to budge — so go forth, and enjoy your festivities!
