Fall is all about change, and there’s no better time to freshen up your look than during this season. And what better way to do so than by styling your hair in the trendiest hairstyles of the season.
With celebs resuming shoots, virtual runways underway and the TikTok crowd serving looks after looks — there’s no dearth of inspiration. Judging by the look of things, hair trends for Fall 2020 seem to be more on the OTT side, which is understandable given that we have been holed up in our homes with little to no hair experimentation, and no, messy buns are not a worthy enough hairstyle to satisfy our needs!
Which is why we are crushing on these trendy hairstyles which are perfect for getting over the gloom of the lockdown.
1. JLo’s diva dos

JLo’s hairstylist is so hot right now — whatever Chris Appleton does becomes a raging trend. From gorgeous voluminous waves to a 90s valley-girl hairdo seen above, JLo has got even the Kardashians to follow her lead when it comes to chic Fall hairstyles! Among her other trending ‘dos are spicy space buns and segmented fountain ponytails; we suggest to keep watching her and get inspired!
2. Structured updos

Bella Hadid is making the rounds of all virtual runways and how! While her supermodel sister and soon-to-be mommy Gigi have given this season a miss, Bella is back at being designers’ muse. Her mid-length hair is timely as well and this structured updo ALMOST broke the internet. We suspect her sheer bodysuit had something to do with it as well!
3. 60s glam ponytail

The eras that are back in vogue for Fall 2020 are the quirky 90s and the glamorous 60s. Barbara Palvin’s painstakingly perfect voluminous ponytail, paired with a thick loose strand in the front, is the stuff hairstyling dreams are made of. Plus, it is super dressy — an OTT look you might be craving after stepping out, post the pandemic.
4. Braided pigtails

The sudden comeback of the many versions of the pigtails baffled us at first, but given that many other school girls-Esque fashion trends are trendy RN too, we are running with it. Combining Dutch braids on top and long, braided pigtails, this hairdo has become too cool for school.
5. Half up half down

This is the only trend on the list that has hints of seasonality in it. Half up half down hairdos are perfect for the Fall. The subtle cool breeze means that you can finally let your hair down after a grueling summer and annoying monsoon. But not so much that you get caught on a windy day with all of your hair in your face!
