There's nothing more elegant than a French braid hairstyle. If you've been eyeing this hairdo for a while, here's how you can ace it yourself in a few simple steps...

how to do a french braid

Before you begin You must understand that for any hairdo, your hair needs some pre-pampering. We suggest you wash your hair with the TRESemmé Ionic Strength Shampoo and Conditioner. The shampoo will provide your hair with much needed nourishment since it contains salon grade ionic complex. The conditioner will lend it moisture and make your hair damage free.

Step 1

Begin this braid by taking a small section of hair from the top of your head and then follow it up by separating this section into 3 strands. Begin by crossing the right one over the middle followed by the left one over the middle.

Step 2

Now hold all these strands in your left hand ensuring that the 3 sections are kept separate.

Step 3

Up next, gather a small section from the right side of your head using your right hand and then add it to the right strand.

Step 4

Use the strand you just added over the middle and bring the middle to the right.

Step 5

Switch hands and keep all strands separate.

Step 6

Follow this up by gathering a section of hair from the left side of your head. Add this to the left strand next.

Step 7

Next, bring the left strand over to the middle and bring the middle to the left. Make sure the braid is tight.

Step 8

Repeat step 2nd and 3rd and go all the way to the end. Secure your braid with a transparent elastic.
