There are some things in life that can bring even the happiest person down—flaky lips when you want to rock your favourite matte lipstick, a wrinkle on the corner of your eye and a dried up gel liner when you want to sport a smokin’ hot eye makeup look.

Gel liner drying out is even worse than heartbreak. I mean I bought it because it glided smoothly on my lid and was so pigmented. What happened there? How did this little jar of creamy liner turned into a crumbly, stiff piece of coal? Argh!

But you don’t need to toss it out, not yet at least. You can bring it back and turn it into the same smooth, pigmented liner that it was when you bought it. With a sneaky little hack we have, you can make your dried out gel liner as good as new. If this has piqued your interest, read more to know how you can bring your dried-up gel liner back to life with a simple hack.

How to restore a dried out gel liner

How to:

Put in three to four eye drops in your dried up gel liner. The eye drops will loosen up the crusty product. Mix the liner with the eye drops using a toothpick. Make sure you get to the last bit of dried eyeliner from the edges and bottom of the jar. Once it is mixed well and has an even consistency, smooth it out using your fingers or a brush. Let it set for some time and use it as usual. It will be smooth and pigmented just as before.

P.S. Next time, don’t leave the lid off for too long.
