We’ve all had one of those rough days when our skin is feeling all dull and dry. We can very well relate to it, it feels like the end of the world.

No matter what the season, it’s natural to have blotchy skin. And since the list of causes could be endless, it’s usually better to let it heal itself than to try to fix it deliberately.

But blotchy skin isn’t good to look at. So we’ve put together 4 tried-and-tested ways to hide your blotchy skin, using makeup you probably already have.

#1 Use a colour corrector!

If you have red, dry patches on your skin, colour correct it before applying the foundation. Take a purple or blue corrector and dab it gently on the problematic areas. The colors will cancel each other out and give you a balanced skin tone, after you’ve applied your base.

#2 Conceal!

God, do we love concealers! They are magic products that literally can hide any and every flaw on your face. Just take a brightening concealer, apply it over the blotchy skin and blend it in. Don’t go overboard with the concealer though, as excessive use leads to creases on your skin.

#3 Don’t apply powder products!

Powdered products are a big no-no when you have blotchy skin. They stick to the dry patches and make your skin look even more dry and patchy. Try using cream and liquid products instead. Also, avoid baking your face during such a time.

#4 Blend, Blend & Blend!

Blending is the key to getting flawless makeup done. Blotchy or not, if you do not blend your makeup well, you’ll end up with a cakey base. Ensure that you invest a lot of time in seamlessly blending your foundation, contour and concealer together. Also, make sure that you dab and not rub on the affected area, as it may irritate the skin.
