Baking makeup is one of the biggest and smartest ways to set your makeup for a flawless and long-lasting finish. Makeup junkies have been using this technique for several years now. For those who are new to the world of makeup, baking refers to letting your translucent powder sit on your face for five to 10 minutes, allowing the heat from your face to set your makeup base, then dusting off the excess powder.

Recently, Kylie Jenner revealed in one of her Snapchat videos that she bakes her eyebrows too! This genius technique could be the secret to well-defined, fuller and natural-looking brows. Here’s what she does.

everything about eyebrow baking

Step 1: Start by applying your base makeup, foundation and concealer. Translucent powder needs a liquid base to grip on to.

Step 2: Outline the top and bottom of your eyebrows carefully using a concealer. This will ensure your brows really stand out.

Step 3: Fill your brows using your favourite brow pencil or gel. We trust the Lakme Absolute Precision Eye Artist Eyebrow Pencil for natural-looking brows.

Step 4: Now dip your makeup brush or sponge in translucent powder and apply a thick layer on your brows using dabbing motions.

Step 5: Let it sit for three to 10 minutes. Depending on how much time you have on hand. Dust away excess powder using a fluffy brush. If you need your makeup to last from dawn to dusk, let the setting powder sit on your face for full 10 minutes.

Step 6: Draw a few more strokes using the brow pencil and finish off with a clear brow gel.

BB pro tip: This baking technique can be used on a lot of different places to make your makeup last all day. It prevents creasing and makeup meltdowns. Some of the areas which easily crease are the under eyes, smile lines, chin and t-zone. Baking these areas of your face will give you a long-lasting, flawless look.
