Curling your eyelashes is one of the most understated makeup techniques. This simple step takes hardly any time in your routine but is a great way to add an instant lift to your lashes, thereby making your eyes appear instantly bigger.

But here’s the thing – not many women are comfortable curling their eyelashes, especially if they have really small and straight natural lashes. If you are someone who hasn’t been blessed with naturally long and wispy eyelashes, fret not. We’re going to teach you how to curl even the shortest eyelashes without breaking into a sweat. So get your eyelash curler out and let’s begin.

Step 01: To curl your lashes easily, they need to be clean. Therefore, make sure your eyelashes are free from any eye cream or residual mascara.

Step 02: The placement of your face and the way you look into the mirror are also important. If possible, use a handheld mirror and place it on a table. Next, keep your chin up and look down into the mirror to ensure that you can see all your lashes easily.

Step 03: Start with your upper lashes. Open up the curler and place the curling strip as close to the root as possible. Make sure that the curler holds most of your eyelashes before closing the curler and pressing it lightly. Hold it there for about 10 seconds before releasing. This should take care of the root.

Step 04: The secret to perfectly curled lashes is to curl them at multiple places and not just at the root. Place the curler in the middle of your lashes and press it gently. But this time, instead of holding it in place, give your lashes a slight pulsing motion to ensure that your lashes are perfectly lifted and curled.

Step 05: Always finish curling your lashes by applying a few coats of a lengthening and curling mascara such as the Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara – Black. This will make shorter lashes appear a lot longer and help maintain the curling effect for a longer time.

BB pro tip: Heat your eyelash curler using a blow dryer before using it. Make sure it’s warm (and not hot) before using it to curl your lashes. The heat helps lock the curl in place to make your lashes look great all day.
