Beauty accidents are a part of life, but nothing is more heartbreaking than opening a brand new lipstick and finding out that it is broken! If you have a broken lipstick sitting in your makeup kit that you can’t bear to part with, then here is a way to fix it!

With some crafting, melting and cutting you can salvage that beautiful lipstick and restore it back to its glory (not completely, but something that closely resembles it, but you sure as hell can use)!

How to fix a broken lipstick

To fix a broken lipstick you will need:

  • Broken lipstick
  • Q-tip
  • Lighter

Step 1: Twist the lipstick all the way up till you see the base of the lipstick.

Step 2: With a clean Q-tip clear the base and smooth it out so that the broken piece has a flatter base to stick to.

Step 3: Now take the lighter and carefully heat the base of the lipstick until it starts to melt and becomes soft.

Step 4: Take the broken piece and warm its base as well, be very careful place the piece in a spoon to avoid any accidents.

Step 5: Once it starts to melt take the Q-tip once again and shape the bottom end of the broken piece. Smooth it out so that it sits on the base perfectly.

Step 6: Place the broken piece while it is soft and warm on the base of the lipstick and use the lighter one last time to melt and stick the two parts properly.

Step 7: Once again use the Q-tip to smooth it out and make it look even, you can also use a concealer brush for this step.

Step 8: Lastly, keep it in the refrigerator for an hour to solidify and use it once again!
