A hack to fix a broken nail in a jiffy

We have all been there, haven’t we? You leave the salon feeling all sexy after a gel manicure sesh, and then boom – you break a nail! *Tch tch* How heart-breaking is that!

Now, you have got two options – either throw a temper tantrum and clip your nails in frustration (ugh), or fix it like the adult you are. If you feel like doing the latter, we've got an oh-so-easy trick to fixing a broken nail: a tea bag. Here's how it's done.

Step 01: You need to start this process on clean nails. Ensure that there is no nail polish, top or base coat on your nails.

Step 02: Using a glass or crystal file, gently file any snags, but be sure to avoid the split itself.

Step 03: Trim a tea bag or paper coffee filter to the size of a small patch that can cover the break in the nail.

Step 04: Paint the broken nail with a generous coat of clear polish.

Step 05: While the clear polish is still wet, gently place the trimmed tea bag over the broken part of the nail. In order to place the tea bag correctly, you can use a tweezer.

Step 06: Allow it to dry. Then cover the nail with one or two more coats of clear polish.

Step 07: After the clear polish has dried you can polish with the colour of your choice to camouflage the tea bag.
