Watching your favourite eye shadow fall in slow motion and break into a million pieces is worse than heartbreak for every makeup lover. Throwing away that beautiful shade isn’t an option, because we know eye shadows are expensive and you can’t just toss it because it’s broken. You might also have some sentimental value attached to it or maybe the product may be a limited edition, whatever may be the reason don’t just throw it yet.

So then do you just make do with the broken pieces? Of course not! If you love makeup as much as we do, you might already know a few hacks to fix broken makeup. But for those who have just ventured into this territory or don’t know how to fix a broken eye shadow, we are here to help.

You will need:

  • Broken eye shadow
  • Rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer
  • Q-tip
  • Plastic wrap/cling film
  • Container

Step 1: Transfer all the broken pieces into a clean container, empty the pot completely to remove every bit of eye shadow from it.

Step 2: Using the Q-tip break all the pieces into a fine powder.

Step 3: Now add a few drops of rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer to it and mix together to form a paste.

Step 4: Transfer it back to the pot and tap on a plain surface to remove any air bubbles.

Step 5: Once it’s settled, cover with a plastic wrap or cling film and then press with your fingers or the back of a spoon to smooth it out.

Step 6: Allow it to dry overnight.
