Let’s be honest: everyone loves voluminous, long eyelashes. And since not all of us are naturally blessed with them, we turn to falsies and eyelash extensions to fulfil our #lashgoals. Unfortunately for me, I got my eyelash extensions just a few days before the lockdown (birthday prep, you see) and when it was time to get rid of them, I couldn’t visit a salon due to the lockdown. But guess what, I came across a super simple method to get rid of my lash extension at home without damaging my natural lashes. Yes, really!
So, if you’re contemplating visiting the salon owing to the current scenario, you can remove your lash extension at home using this simple 3-step guide. Let’s begin…
Step 01: Wash your face as you normally would. Avoid scrubbing the eye area.
Step 02: Fill steaming hot water in a bowl, place your head over it and hot a towel your head to keep the steam from the water from escaping. Stay in this position for 10-15 minutes. The steam will help loosen the bonds of the lash glue.
Step 03: Then, pour an oil-based cleanser such as the Lakme Absolute Argan Radiance Rinse Off Cleansing Oil on a cotton pad and gently rub it over your eyes in a circular motion to help dissolve the lash glue. You can also use an extra gentle and pure carrier oil such as olive oil or almond oil and rub it very gently over your eyes to get rid of the lash extensions (make sure to not get the oil in your eye).
Following these simple steps will make your lash extensions slide off very easily. It will also prevent any sort of tugging and pulling, which ends up harming your natural lashes and makes them fall off.
