When it comes to eyebrows, you just can’t settle for anything less than perfect. Defined, filled-in brows can accentuate your features, add definition and take years off your face. While it is easy to fill in bold, bushy brows to make them appear well-groomed, the problem starts when you need to shape and fill-in thin and sparse brows.

Enter: Eyebrow stencils. These easy-to-use tools make defining the eyebrows a breeze. No kidding. Ahead, how to use an eyebrow stencil the right way to create perfect looking brows.

01. Choose the correct stencil

The most important part when it comes to using an eyebrow stencil is to use the right tool. To do so, always hold different stencils up against your natural eyebrows and see which one (almost) matches your natural shape. Choosing the wrong stencil can ruin your entire look, so pick wisely.

02. Mark the points

To get on-fleek brows, place the stencil correctly. The easiest way to do so is by marking three points. The first mark should be the front of your eyebrows, which will be in line with your eye’s inner corner. Next, mark the highest part of your brow bone, the arch. Finally, mark the tip of your brow, which will be in line with the outer corner of the eye. To find the most flattering eyebrow shape, tilt the stencil in several ways until you are satisfied.

03. Start filling in

Once you are satisfied with how the stencil is placed, grab an eyebrow pencil such as the Lakme Absolute Micro Brow Perfecter and start filling in your brows. Remember to be as light-handed as possible, as you don’t want the end result to look really stark. After you have filled in the brows, take some clear brow gel and apply it on the brows to seal everything in place.
