As far as school and office supplies go, scotch tape is a hero product. But apart from the business-y things that we use scotch tape for, it has a ton of uses in our everyday lives as well. Yes, we are talking about when you need to urgently fix a hem or keep that low-cut top from falling open or fix a broken credit card. But again, the uses of the very humble scotch tape don’t end there either. It plays a really important role in your beauty routine too.
Contrary to what you might believe, most makeup gurus use more than just the makeup brushes in their kits to perfect a look. From perfecting your eyeliner and giving you the most beautiful cut crease eyeshadow look ever, to upping your manicure game, there are lots of ways in which you can use scotch tape.
While we have all tried using it to get that enviable cat-eye, we have another hack using this product that’s sure to make your life a lot simpler. Read on to find out what it is.
Hack – scotch tape to clean makeup brushes
If you are travelling or are in a real hurry to get done with your makeup, you may not always have the time or the bandwidth to carry your entire set of makeup brushes with you. This is when you may find yourself reaching for the same eyeshadow blending brush for multiple different shades without fully cleaning it in between.
This is where your scotch tape has got you covered. To clean coloured powder off of a brush, roll it on top of a clean piece of tape, which will remove the first two to three layers of colour. Yeah, it is that simple! We were totally amazed at how simple yet effective this hack was.
But it also makes sense to mention here that this hack does not replace the actual cleaning of your makeup brushes with soap and water, which you should be doing at least once a month.
