Summer Beauty Fixes

Summer’s the time for maxi dresses, colour and everything fresh. But it’s also the time for humidity, sweat and frizz. While there is no way to escape the rising Celsius, there is a way you can make the most of it.

For your Face
The last thing you want in the summer is your makeup melting under beads of sweat. Yeah, it’s as cringe-worthy as it sounds. Sure, you can use more product to beat it, but the easier way is to go minimal. Opt for a light moisturiser, an SPF 30+ sunscreen and lightly powder them both down with loose powder for a long lasting, matte look.
We recommend: Lakme 9to5 Hydrating Super Sunscreen - SPF 50 PA+++

For your Hair
Summer always spells bad news for your hair. Unless you’re one of the (really) lucky girls, chances are that you’re going to be dealing with oily, dry and frizzy hair. Tame your mane by applying some leave in conditioner in once you’ve had a hair wash and check yourself into a hair spa once in a month to give your hair all the TLC it needs. Show it some love and it’ll show you some kindness too.
We recommend: TIGI Bed Head Ego Boost

For your Lips
Don’t be fooled. Just like your skin, your lips can get parched and tanned too. Few women know that lips can get as much of a beating in the summer as in the winter. We suggest replacing your lipstick with lip balm that won’t dry or parch your lips but instead leave them nourished and hydrated (plus, add a natural shine.) If you want some colour, try making a beetroot lip stain at home instead.
We recommend: Vaseline Lip Therapy in Rose (for protection and colour)

For your Eyes

While summer’s the perfect time to play with colour, the general consensus spells ‘dicey’ when it comes to eyeshadow. Hide your mascara (no one likes to see or be the subject of mascara goop) and opt for a high definition kajal instead. If you’re feeling feisty, try eye pencils in different colours. For the night, add some drama with a light layer of sheer eyeshadow.
We recommend: Lakmé Eyeconic in black, brown and green

For your Body
Prevent your skin from drying out by nourishing it both externally and internally. Use a moisturiser that’s enriched with SPF and make sure to apply it at least twenty minutes before you step out into the sun. Stay hydrated by loading up on water, juice and fresh fruit to keep your skin replenished.
We recommend: Lakmé Peach Milk Moisturiser SPF 24 PA ++
