Are you a makeup noob with no idea how to apply eyeshadow? We know eye makeup can be very tricky to ace, but our makeup ninja, Shanaya Sardesai has some simple steps to help you out. Follow this application process, and it will be a piece of cake. All you need to do is practice and we’re pretty sure you will get it right every single time.
Step 01: Start by applying concealer all over your lid and brow bone. This will give you a blank canvas to work with.
Step 02: Lightly dust some powder all over the eyelid to help your eyeshadow go on smoothly.
Step 03: Applying eyeshadow is all about creating a gradient effect. Keep a light hand and start by applying your first colour slightly above the crease.
Step 04: Apply a light shade on the inner third of your eye. This will ensure that the dark shadow you add later doesn’t darken the inner area.
Step 05: Now start working on the outer section of the eye. This is where the darkest shadow would go.
BB pro tip: When you want to make the shadow more opaque, hold the brush close to the bristle to pack on the colour.
Step 06: Now with a blending brush start blending from the end to the mid area and crease to create a seamless look. Hold the brush towards the end to avoid patchy blending.
Step 07: If you feel like you need to add a bit more drama to your eyes, take a little bit of that dark eyeshadow and pack it on. Make sure to start slow and build up the product. It’s easier to add more product than to remove.
Step 08: Now add highlighter to your inner corner and brow bone to brighten up the area.
Step 09: Finish off by applying eyeliner and mascara.
