Falsies or false lashes are a great way to make a statement. But they are not for every day wear, are they? They cost quite a bit and are good for occasional wear. So make sure your falsies last a while by cleaning and storing them properly. There are many ways that you could go about cleaning them, but we bring you the method beauty guru and blogger extraordinaire, Huda Kattan swears by. Here is how you do it!

Cosmetic cotton pads

Eye makeup remover or micellar water

Cotton swab (Cotton ear bud)

Tweezers

  • Soak a cotton pad in eye makeup remover or micellar water and gently place one strip eye lash on it
  • Soak a second cotton pad in the same eye  makeup remover or micellar water and place it on top of the eye lash
  • Create an eye lash ‘sandwich’ with the two cotton pads on either sides and the false lash in the centre
  • Let it sit for about a minute

  • Remove the top cotton pad. By now, the glue and residue makeup would have been loosened from the eye lash
  • Take a pair of tweezers and gently pull away the glue

  • Take a cotton swab and soak it with the makeup remover/micellar water and wipe away any remaining debris
  • Repeat with the other lash

How to clean false lashes

  • Store the lashes in the original container they came in – where they have a curved surface to rest on, this preserves the natural curvature needed to fit your eye
