Even though I’m a beauty junkie with decent makeup application skills, I usually find myself breaking into a sweat every time I have to create a cut crease eye makeup look. I mean, HOW do makeup artists and bloggers make it look so easy? Ugh!
Buuuut, I recently came across this super cool trick to create a cut crease using the most unexpected product – a bottle cap! Yes, you read that right. Even though this sounds ridiculous, it’s an extremely quick and simple way to recreate this complicated look. Curious about how it works? Here's a step-by-step guide to take you through the process.
Step 01: Start by applying concealer all over your lids and set using a translucent powder. This will give your eyeshadow a smooth base to glide on and make them pop
Step 02: Now, do your eye makeup like you usually would. You can use the Lakme Absolute Infinity Eye Shadow Palette as it has 12 colours in each palette to help you play around with your look
Step 03: Next, take a thoroughly washed and clean cap of any plastic bottle and use it as a stencil to trace the crease
Step 04: Once you’ve traced the line, remove the cap and blend the edges for a seamless look
Step 05: Finish your eye makeup by applying two coats of mascara and voila! Your stunning crease is ready to be flaunted.
Why this works…
Anyone who’s drawn an eyeliner knows how difficult it is to get clean, sharp lines. And to define a cut crease without a guide can be quite a task. The bottle cap acts as the perfect replacement if you don’t own a makeup stencil or don’t have a steady hand.
