Recreating a gorgeous makeup look in front of the restroom mirror may seem like an impossible task. But, this season’s trend is all about minimalism, and requires only one product! When we sit down to do our makeup, we rely on at least 10 different products to achieve one look. Monochromatic makeup is here to change that cutting down the number of colours and products you need for a super stunning look.
So, procrastinators and minimalists, rejoice; we are about to reveal how you can create an easy monochromatic makeup look with just one product. This article has got all your last-minute plans covered!
You will need:
Your go-to lipstick (ideally a creamy or gel -like formula that you wear on a regular basis).
We love the Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Color - Plum Feather. Just this one product is enough to give you a full face of makeup. We will show you how.
After you have cleansed and prepped your face for makeup, take some product on the tip of your finger and dab on your eyelids. If you don’t have a brush, use your fingertips to lightly blend the product on your eyelid. To add depth, keep the inner half of your eyelid slightly lighter than the outer half.
This product will eliminate the need for a blush too! Start by taking very little product on your fingertip and lightly tap it on your cheeks. Blend it outwards. If it looks too light apply some more and blend again.
Now use the lipstick on your lips to tie the whole look together. Start by drawing an X on your Cupid’s bow and follow the contours of your lips to accentuate your pout. If you’re aiming for a matte look, apply the lipstick directly. If you want a creamy finish, first apply a lip tint and then follow it up with the lipstick. This will ensure that your lips don’t feel too dry.
If you love bold makeup looks, go ahead and experiment with brighter shades. The Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Color - Crimson Silk is for those who prefer bright and bold makeup shades.
