Makeup removal routine ft. micellar water

If you are a makeup junkie and wear makeup regularly, you already know that simply washing your face with a cleanser is not enough. There will be remnants of foundation, mascara and eyeshadow still sitting on your face. Going to bed without getting rid of every bit of that war paint  is not an option. It’s practically an open invitation for breakouts and other skin problems. Our solution: Double cleansing!

Start by removing your makeup and then move onto a facial cleanser. While you can use a cleansing milk or wipes to get your makeup off, we’re currently hooked onto micellar water. So here’s how to use micellar water in your night-time double cleansing routine.

Step 01: Remove that makeup

Step 02: Cleanse thoroughly

You’ve spotted micellar water in the makeup aisle while shopping and you’ve seen your favourite beauty bloggers use it. Let us tell you that this isn’t just another beauty trend that everyone’s raving about; micellar water is a must-have for every girl’s skincare routine. It contains small micelles, which pick up dirt and oily makeup and incorporate it into its own structure so that it can be easily wiped away with a cotton pad. This is the only makeup removing method that cleanses the skin and hydrates it at the same time.

Step 02: Cleanse thoroughly

Most eye makeup formulas are waterproof and quite stubborn to get rid of. Liquid eyeliner and long-lasting mascara sure last till the end of the day, but they can be difficult to remove. Therefore, it is essential to pay special attention to the eye area in the makeup removal routine. Micellar water makes this easy too; simply soak a cotton pad with the Pond’s Vitamin Micellar Water Brightening Rose, place it on your closed lids wait for a few seconds and gently sweep to instantly remove all the makeup.

Step 02: Cleanse thoroughly

Matte or not, your lip colour wears off by the end of the day, but that doesn’t mean you should skip using micellar water on your lips. In fact, if you wear glossy or non-matte lipsticks, then chances are a lot of dust and dirt might be sitting on your lips. Reach for micellar water and swipe it across your lips using a cotton pad and you’re sure to notice remnants of your lipstick on the pad.

Step 02: Cleanse thoroughly

Step 02: Cleanse thoroughly

Lastly, it is also essential to wash your face with a foaming cleanser because your skin is coated with more than just makeup and oil. Pollution settles on your skin in the form of smoke, grime and dust by the end of the day and it is important to use a deep cleansing face wash such as the Pond’s Pure White Anti-Pollution + Purity Face Wash to remove everyday impurities.

Once you are done with this routine, you can be sure that your face is thoroughly cleansed without being dried out. Layer up with your night cream or serum, and you’re ready for bed!
