Liquid matte lipsticks are our newest beauty obsession and we are not the only ones going gung-ho over this new cool cousin of that classic bullet lipstick!
Liquid matte lipsticks are fresh, fun, they are everywhere (everyone we know is wearing them) and the best part is, they do—not—budge! These long-lasting liquid mattes are perfect for those of us who want to sport that perfect pout 24*7, no conditions applied. That said, these liquid matte lipsticks do come with their own do’s and don’ts.
To make the most of all this matte gorgeousness on your lips, here are a few things you must know...
Matte finish liquid lip colours are long-lasting and therefore a little drying on the lips. Which is why you must pick a liquid matte lipstick that comes in a light formula that is light on your lippies and the Lakmé Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color we think is perfect. Also make sure you prepare your lips well beforehand. Apply Vaseline Petroleum Jelly on your lips and let it sink in while you finish the rest of your makeup. This will curb lip dryness.
One coat is all you need
Liquid matte lipsticks like the Lakme Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color come with bold colour pay off and velvet matte finish which makes it a one swipe application. Excess liquid lipstick can end up creasing and look patchy. So just pick some product on the applicator and apply it across your lips softly and that should be enough. Start with the lower lips and finish the application at the Cupid’s Bow.
Don’t rub your lips
Once you have applied the liquid lipstick across your lips let the matte finish do it’s magic. Rubbing your lips together like you do with gloss or creamy textures is a big no with matte lipsticks. If you try to rub your lips together after applying liquid mattes, it is going to end up looking patchy and dry. So just apply it on your lower lip first, then on your upper lip and wait for it to dry.
No touch ups, no!
Liquid matte lipsticks are long-lasting and they need no touch ups either. So just apply and let it do it magic. Don’t try to double quote it or you will end up creasing it and making it look dry and patchy.
You will need a good makeup remover though
Since liquid lipsticks are long-lasting they are also drying, and that makes them slightly difficult to take off. So before you think of applying matte lipsticks, you must keep a good makeup remover ready in your vanity kit. The Lakmé Absolute Bi-Phased Make-up Remover we think is easy on the skin and removes makeup without leaving any product behind.
