We all love spending hours in the salon, getting all dolled up and pampering our skin and hair. But when it comes to our nails, we’re often quite reluctant or rather lack an equal amount of enthusiasm to do so.
Well-done nails are quite attractive and appealing to look at and can certainly boost your confidence in public. However, if you do not have the time or the budget to rush to the salon every time to get that chic French manicure done, here’s a quick guide on how you can get the same thing done by yourself, and in the comfort of your own home.
What You Will Need:
● A bowl of warm water
● Translucent Tape
● White nail polish
● Soft baby pink nail polish
● A clear Topcoat
Step 1: Soak Your Nails In Warm Water
Begin by soaking your nails in warm water for about 5 to 10 minutes. This will make your nails and the skin around it relatively softer. Get rid of any nail polish that might be on your nails with the help of a nail paint remover. Then, buff your nails nicely into the desired shape.
Step 2: Apply The Base Coat
Once your nails are clean and dry, apply a base coat onto your nails. Use a baby pink or blush pink coloured nail paint for this step, as they’re the ideal colours for a French manicure
Step 3: Stick Tape Over The Nails
If you’re still an amateur or pretty clumsy at applying nail paint, you can always try this hack for getting those perfect white nail tips. All you need to do is to cut out a thin strip of translucent tape and cover your nails with it, excluding only the tips wherein the white nail paint is to be applied.
Step 4: Apply The White Nail Polish
Next, apply the white nail paint onto the tips where there is no tape. You don’t even have to worry about messing up as the remaining part of your nails is now safely covered with tape.
Step 5: Peel Off The Tape
Once you’re done applying the white nail paint over the tips, carefully peel off the tape from your nails. Make sure that you do this very gently as you don’t want to ruin the rest of your nails that you’ve applied the base coat on.
Step 6: Apply The Top Coat
Lastly, apply a clear top coat over your nails to lock in the nail paint and to secure all the effects of the manicure in place.
Voila! Say hello to your freshly French manicured nails.
