With new nail trends surfacing every other day on Instagram and Pinterest, it is safe to say that there is no dearth of nail art ideas. To top it all, we have celebrities and beauty influencers who continue to give us major mani inspo from time to time, be it Kylie Jenner’s sticker manicure or Sara Ali Khan’s plain white square nails.
From tortoise shell and cow girl to accent tips and super sheer, there is something for everyone out there, no matter what the shape of your nails. And, the good news is that we discovered another nail trend to add to your list. It’s called candy corn nails. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it? Well, as the name suggests, this trend is derived from yellow and orange candies, and looks absolutely delectable.
If you’ve been eyeing this trend, then you’re in for a “treat”. We’ve got you covered with a step-by-step tutorial on how to ace the candy corn manicure at home:
Step 1: Base coat
Apply not one, but two coats of your base polish because you’ll be working with three colours for this manicure. Generous coats of base polish will provide a smooth base for your nail polish to spread evenly and help the polish stick better.
Step 2: Paint your nails yellow
Get your hands on the Elle 18 Nail Pops Nail Polish - 135 and paint your nails entirely. Let it dry for at least 15 minutes and make sure that you keep the layers thin.
Step 3: Tape it
Now, section off your nail into thirds using a tape, making sure to press down the edges. Doing so will prevent the nail paint from seeping beneath the tape.
Step 4: Apply orange polish
Use the Lakmé 9 To 5 Primer + Gloss Nail Color - Orange Coat to paint the top two-thirds of your nail orange. Leave the yellow peeking out at the back of your nail.
Step 5: Apply white polish
It’s time to use the last colour to finish your candy corn nails. You can use the Elle 18 Nail Pops Nail Polish - 39 to paint the tip of your nail white. Finish off with a matte top coat.
