Play up your eyes, play down your lips
The easiest way to play down your look when you’re wearing prints is to play up your eyes and keep the rest of your face minimal. Go big on your mascara, liner and shadow; a shadow colour that contrasts and balances your prints is always welcome. Wear your lips glossy with a natural or barely there lip colour.
For your eyes: Lakmé Absolute Drama Stylist Shadow Crayons in Olive and Purple.
For your lips: The Passionfruit or Carnation shade from the Lakmé Aquashine Lip Colour Range.
Play up your lips and cheeks, play down your eyes
For those of you who feel absolutely lost without colour on your lippers, of course you can wear it with your prints, provided that you tone down your eyes. Wear a strong lip in a poppy pink, fuchsia, burning red or our current favourite orange but restrict your blush to a peachy shade. A loud lip and rosy cheeks do not an elegant lady make. If your eyes are looking too nude, line your lower waterline with the Eyeconic Brown.
For your lips: Rustic Red the Lakmé Absolute Gloss Range or Sorbet Tuesday from the Lakmé 9 to 5 Matte Lip Colour Range.
For your cheeks: Lakmé 9 to 5 Blush in Peach Affair or the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Peach Blush.
Play up your jewellery and hair, play down your face
If you’ve been taking good care of your face (cleanse + tone + moisturise + drink oodles of water) everyday, there’s absolutely no need to decorate it with anything else. Just apply some moisturiser or skin serum, line your eyes with kohl and leave it be. Play up your jewellery and hair instead. If the print is restricted to your skirt, you can always go all out with your blingiest bling, if the print extends to your top and dress as well, take it easy with delicate baubles with fun, single pendants. Accentuate your hair with a bejewelled hair band, funky hair clips or a pretty fishtail braid.
For your accessories: Big baubles like these or dainty but funky ones like these.
For your hair: Easy-to-do hair ideas such as a low bun, a fishtail or a front braid.
