One of the greatest perks of summer is the constant natural lighting that makes your makeup look boom.com! While we’re sure that you already have a fool-proof summer makeup routine in place, we want to help you turn it up a notch. From highlighting your decolletage to lining your lips with some bronzer, here are four ways to get that ultimate summer makeup glow!
- 01. Determine your undertone
- 02. Create a mattifying base
- 03. Get creative with your bronzer
- 04. Highlight your shoulders and decolletage
01. Determine your undertone
How your makeup will look in the sun depends a lot on how your undertone reacts to sun exposure. Cool undertones can burn easily, warm undertones tan easy, and neutral undertones burn first and then tan. Once you figure out your undertone, match it with your foundation, blush or even the right shade of nude lipstick. For instance, someone with a cool undertone will be able to pull off a pink nude shade better than a warm undertone, who would look much better in a mocha shade!
02. Create a mattifying base
Summer skin tends to be oily and greasy. To make sure that your makeup looks its best and lasts all day long, it’s necessary to use a primer. Use the Lakme Absolute Blur Perfect Makeup Primer to create the perfect base. This primer not only gives a slight mattifying effect but also hides your imperfections seamlessly. Seal your makeup in place by setting it with some loose powder like the Lakme 9 to 5 Naturale Finishing Powder - Universal Shade at the end of your makeup routine.
03. Get creative with your bronzer
Don’t limit your gorgeous shade of shimmery bronzer to just the cheeks. Apply it to the top of your cheekbones and eyelids too. Line your lips with same bronzer using your fingertips. Take it down to the jawline and your chest for an overall lit-from-within glow.
04. Highlight your shoulders and decolletage
After you’re done applying your makeup, take a highlighter like the Lakme Absolute Highlighter - Moon-Lit and go over your collarbone, shoulders and decolletage with it. Pick a shade that best suits your complexion and dust/sprinkle the shimmer onto the exposed area — decolletage, chest, shoulders, etc. It ties the whole look together and makes your summer body match the glam quotient of your face.
