In a world full of matte, be a gloss and stand out!
Let’s admit it. Celebrities and beauty ninjas all over the world are ditching matte for a high-impact glossy look. And no, we’re not just talking about a glossy pout. If you’ve been keeping a close watch on the latest beauty trends, you’d know that a full-fledged gloss makeup look involves a dewy base, glossy lids and sheer lips. Gloss all-over is creating a storm, and if done right, it can give even your full-face of matte makeup look a run for its money!
So, if you’re itching to try glossy makeup for the upcoming party season, then here’s a step-by-step guide to help you ace the look like a pro. Prep your skin strategically and use the right textures… that’s all you need to pay heed to if you want to flaunt gloss like a boss!

Step 1: Prep your skin
The key to ace a glossy look is to prep your skin well. Cleansing and moisturising using the right products for your skin type is everything! Start with a good cleanse. If you have oily skin, then go in with a DIY clay mask. A clay mask will reduce the appearance of excess shine and make your pores look tightened. Whereas, if you have dull or parched skin, then use a face or sheet mask such as the St. Ives Oatmeal Soothing Mask Sheet to hydrate and nourish your skin. Follow it up with moisturiser and massage it into your face.

Step 2: Ace the base
If you want a glossy, highlighter finish, then create a base using the Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation With SPF 45 for a dewy, radiant look. Skip the concealer so as to avoid your skin looking cakey. For the cheeks, use the Lakmé Absolute Highlighter - Moon-Lit on top of your cheekbones in upward strokes. Since you’re aiming for a high-impact glossy look, use the same highlighter on your temples, down the bridge of your nose and below your brow bone.

Step 3: Dope glossy lids
While going for a full-fledged glossy look, how can you miss out on… glossy lids? Glossy lids are trending all over the runways, red carpets and Instagram. All you need to do is pick a shimmer or metallic eyeshadow in either gel, cream or liquid as these textures tend to deliver the glossy look you’re aiming for. Next, use a light, clear balm over the shimmer/metallic eyeshadow. Use your fingers and tap on a thin layer all over your lids, avoiding your crease. The crease is where you feel the stick factor most, and you don’t want that sticky feeling.

Step 4: Sultry sheer lips
Finish off your glossy makeup look with a fuller, sheer pout. To create high-impact glossy lips, start by lining your lips. We suggest you use a darker shade of lip liner to make that glossy pout stand out! Then, fill in your lips using the same lip liner. Lastly, finish off by applying a thick layer of tinted lip balm over it. Voila!
