Neon blush made its debut at the beginning of the year, in the form of a draped look. It was everywhere right from red carpet events to famous bloggers' Insta feed. However, the trend slowly fizzled out after the onset of the pandemic. As we enter 2021, experts are predicting that the trend will be back with a bang.

If you like being on top of your makeup game and love trying new trends, then it's time to learn how to ace the neon blush trend. Here are a few easy steps to achieve it.

Step 01: Pick the perfect neon blush

There's no dearth of blush shades in the market; however, finding a neon shade might be a bit difficult. When you are trying it out for the first time, we suggest sticking to shades like fuchsia pink or deep orange. Pick a cream lipstick like the Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Color - Tangerine Fluff, this way if you don't like the shade on your cheeks, you can at least flaunt it on your lips!

Step 02: Ace the base

You know the trick to making your eye colour pop is creating the perfect base with a concealer. Similarly, to make your blush look bright and visible, start by applying a primer and then a matte foundation like the Lakme 9 To 5 Primer + Matte Perfect Cover Foundation. It blends smoothly and creates the perfect canvas for the blush to go on smoothly.

Step 03: Swipe, buff, set

The next and final step is to take a little bit of the product on your fingertip, apply two dots on your cheeks and blend using a fluffy brush. The strokes of the brush should go outwards onto the cheekbones and upper temple area. This will create the perfect celebrity-like draped look. If the blush is too light, apply some more product and blend. Set with translucent powder and finish off by spritzing some setting spray.
