Thanks to the pandemic, most of our work and social lives have gone virtual. And although this means that you don’t need to wear a lot of makeup often, it is still considered good etiquette to at least look presentable, even if you’ll be seeing people through your screens. Agree?
Now, you know that you don't need to wear a full face of makeup for a virtual meeting as the screen itself blurs out quite a few skin imperfections, but are you aware that certain common makeup mistakes can make you look more tired? Yes, really.
Now, that’s certainly how you don’t wanna look on a work call, right? But before you start fretting, hear us out. We’ve listed down four makeup mistakes to avoid when taking a Zoom call for a fresh, healthy and glowing appearance. So go ahead and take notes, and don't forget to thank us later.

While bronzer gives you that just-back-from-a-vacay look IRL, on a video call, it only adds more shadows to your face. This not only makes you look gaunt and tired but also accentuates quite a few skin imperfections. To avoid this, go light on the bronzer or ditch it entirely and simply swipe on some blush onto the apples of your cheeks for a healthy flush of colour.

Wearing a bold black eyeliner is best left out on those video calls. This is because a bold eyeliner, especially black, makes your eyes look a lot smaller and droopy, which ends up making you look tired. The best thing to do would be to skip eyeliner altogether and simply swipe on some mascara to open up your eyes. But if you do feel like wearing an eyeliner, we suggest opting for a brown one instead.

03. Not filling in your brows

Thin and sparse brows can make you tired, older and slightly unkempt on video calls, even if the rest of your makeup is on-point. To avoid this, always remember to brush up and fill in your brows before an important video call. This not only helps frame your face beautifully, but is also the simplest way to amp up your entire look in an instant.\

In order to look fresh and glowing on a video call, here’s a tip we at Be Beautiful swear by – always create eye makeup looks in lighter colours. This means avoiding dark, and black smokey eye makeup looks as they end up giving the appearance of a black eye on a video call, thereby making you look exhausted. Use eyeshadows in pink, nude and coral shades to instantly open up your peepers and look wide awake.
