4 different ways to use brown eyeliner to level up your makeup game

Black eyeliners are a makeup kit staple that basically every woman — makeup lover or not — owns. One swipe of black eyeliner can instantly add so much drama to your whole look. But what about days when you wanna create a subtle and natural look? Enter: The brown eyeliner. Brown eyeliner can add depth and definition to your eyes minus the starkness that comes with a jet-black eyeliner.

But that’s not all. A brown eyeliner can do that and so much more! From doubling up as brow pencil to serving as an eyeshadow base, here are four different ways to use a basic brown eyeliner we bet you’ll love…

1. Create faux freckles

Unless you’re living under a rock, you’d that faux freckles are a huge beauty trend. Plus, they are super simple to create and don’t require much precision or makeup skills. Start by lightly dotting a brown pencil liner like the Lakme Eyeconic Kajal – Brown across your nose and cheeks. Lightly pat each freckle to blend them in and make them appear natural. Set with loose powder to keep your freckles from budging. Easy-peasy, noh?

2. Contour your face

This contouring hack using a brown eyeliner comes in really handy when you’re travelling and couldn’t be bothered with carrying multiple products. Simply carry a creamy pigmented eyeliner such as the Lakme Absolute Kohl Ultimate Kajal - Ash Brown and apply it right under your cheekbones. Smudge it using a contouring brush or makeup sponge and you’re good to go!

3. Define your brows

A black eyebrow pencil can look really stark and unnatural. For softer, more natural-looking brows, use a brown pencil. But if you don’t have a brown eyebrow product, fret not, a brown eyeliner works just fine. Simply create light, hair-like strokes to fill in the gaps in your brows. This will give your brows a lot of definitions and make them appear fuller.

4. Use it as an eyeshadow

Did you know that a brown eyeliner pencil can also easily double up as an eyeshadow? All you need to do is swipe on a little bit of a creamy matte brown eye pencil all over your lid and blend it out for subtle depth and definition. This eyeshadow hack works really well when recreating a no-makeup makeup look.
