Lazy girl’s summer makeup guide for those ‘no-time-to-spare’ mornings

You have all done it… watch 10 to 12 summer makeup video tutorials online over the weekend and when Monday morning dawns, you whip out the same trusty 3 makeup products and go for the same neutral look you have been doing for the last 2 years. Guilty as charged? We understand. For the slightly lazy girls out there (and we have all been there at one time or another) here is a simplified summer makeup routine for the days when you just don’t feel like it.

The trick is multitask products and since summer is here in all its glory, to keep your skin feeling light and airy.

Hack # 1

Hack # 5

After you apply moisturiser, skip applying the foundation and just dab concealer on the spots that need a little bit of coverage and blend well with a small, round fluffy brush. This will make sure you have light and airy skin, perfect for summer look.

Multitask your products and after you spot-conceal, use a blush (powder or cream) to give you a light, natural hint of colour on your cheeks. Dab on the apple of your cheeks and blend well. Use the same product on the eye lid as well for a soft wash of colour.

It’s all about dewy skin this year, and a hint of highlighter at the top of your cheeks will certainly perk your look up. Use a fan brush to sweep highlighter just the highest points on your cheeks. If you don’t have anything you can use as highlighter, a shimmery golden/champagne eyeshadow or petroleum jelly or even a spot of oil will do the trick!

Use a sweep of mascara to open up your eyes and you can use the same to lightly brush out your brows as well! The idea is to multitask your products and make sure you use fewer products but maximise the effect!

You can’t forget about your lips, can you? Summer is all about bright, poppy colours and we suggest you sweep a lip gloss or a crème lipstick as this will ensure your lips will not dry in the summer sun!
