Are there different kinds of lash extensions?
There are three types of lash extensions that you can opt for – synthetic, silk and mink. You can also choose the length, the density and the curl of the lashes that you want. Also, remember that you have keep getting them re-done once every 40 days.
How is it done?
Natural lashes follow a lifecycle. They go from being baby lashes to teenage lashes and then adult lashes, before they finally fall off. This cycle takes 40 days approximately. While getting lash extensions, artificial lashes are bonded to teenage and adult lashes and they last as long as the natural lashes do. It is for this reason they are a semi-permanent solution.
Will glue enter my eye?
If you’re worried about the glue entering your eye, be assured your eyes are going to be shut throughout the entire process, so the possibility of something like this happening are low.
Does it hurt?
Not one bit.
What if my eyes tear up?
The only possible situation where your eyes will tear up is if you are allergic to the glue being used. In such cases, ask your technician to stop and rinse your eyes thoroughly with water.
Can I go for a swim right away?
No. After you’ve had the procedure done, it is important to wait for a good 24 hours so that the glue has completely dried and your lashes are intact. The water can possibly loosen the adhesive used in the procedure resulting in your eyelash extensions falling off.
Can I wear mascara over it?
If you’re planning on applying mascara over your false lashes, keep in mind to use the wand with a light hand and only apply it on the end of the lashes. It is best avoided as the makeup remover you use to take the mascara off might upset your lash extensions.
Will my natural lashes be harmed?
One of the biggest myths when it comes to lash extensions is that the procedure will harm the growth of your natural lashes. If the procedure is done at a reputed place by a trained technician, your natural lashes are going to be unharmed and will grow as is.
