TBH, we think freckles are stunning and should be shown off instead of being hidden under full coverage makeup. Girls with freckles can work to accentuate their freckles instead of hiding them.
Accentuate these ‘kisses from the sun’ with the right products and techniques. Here are some tips of how you can apply makeup to allow your freckles to shine through!
- 01. Use a sheer foundation or tinted moisturiser
- 02. Fill in the gaps
- 03. Use cream-based formulas
- 04.Contour with caution
01. Use a sheer foundation or tinted moisturiser

Use a tinted moisturiser, sheer foundation or BB cream as your base; anything too opaque will make your freckles look muddy. If you can do without any of these, just dab a bit of concealer to spot-correct your blemishes and you’re good to go.

02. Fill in the gaps

Freckles are always not perfectly distributed or shaped. Use a brow pencil to give them definition. Also, fill in the gaps to make them more even on one part of your face. Make sure to pick your most flattering brow pencil as it will add subtle depth to suit your natural complexion. Focus on the bridge of your nose and spread out the cluster when you get to your cheeks. Use a smudge-free formula like the Lakme Absolute Precision Eye Artist Eyebrow Pencil to have the fakes stay put.
03. Use cream-based formulas

If you like to go heavy on blushes and highlighters, choose creamy formulas over powder ones. They are thinner in consistency and spread evenly for your freckles to show through. Cream highlighters will also make your complexion look fresh, glowing and youthful! Also, go easy on the bronzer!
04.Contour with caution

Apply your contouring in a way that it doesn’t look overwhelming with your natural freckles. Intense contouring can ruin the softness of freckles; so keep it minimal on the cheeks and the centre of your forehead. However, you can take it to your jaw and hairline without any restrictions.
