Super foods for naturally healthy nails

Our nails say a lot about our health and are yet one of the most ignored parts of the body. While we shower our skin and hair with some tender love and care, the only TLC nails receive is during a pampering manicure and pedicure session.

If you notice closely, your nails deserve more attention and you can give it that by simply chewing a few super foods. Here’s what they are…

Oats

You have already heard about the many benefits of oats, here’s another one to add. Oats are a rich source of fibre, zinc and copper which aid in making nails healthy and shiny. So waste no more time and begin your day with a healthy bowl of oatmeal or smoothie.

Almonds

Almonds are packed with protein and magnesium, both of which are essential for healthy nails. The vertical ridges that appear on your nails are a sign that you’re magnesium deficient. Add it to your morning bowl of oatmeal or munch on a few while at work.

Eggs

Apart from being loaded with protein, eggs are a rich source of iron, copper and biotin. The deficiency of biotin leads to brittle and weak nails. Brittle nails break off easily and look ugly. So, continue eating eggs whichever way you like and don’t skip them.

Pumpkin and sunflower seeds

Pumpkin and sunflower seeds are super foods in every sense as they are very nutritious. These seeds restore shine and health to dull and pale nails; it also improves the texture of your skin and hair. Replace snacking on unhealthy cookies and chips with seeds and notice the changes in your nails.
