What you should wear…
You’ll be surprised to know but you can mix and match a lot of individual pieces to get your ethnic look in place. We recommend…
A traditional white kurta with gold work that makes for the perfect balance between Indian and Western; worn with statement heels in a contrasting colours and chand balis.
If you don’t wish to play it too traditional you can pair a dressy crop top or a blouse (the piece should work by itself) with a printed pair of pants or a flowy skirt. Accessorize with traditional silver jewellery and a pair of Kolhapuris.
How you should look…
Step 1: As is the case for any V-Day look, we’re suggesting you prep your skin and give it max coverage using the Lakmé CC cream; as an added benefit it even moisturises and evens out your skin tone.
Step 2: Since you’re going ethnic, line your eyes with the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate on the lower waterline (and be generous while you’re at it) and sweep a line across your upper eyelid with the Lakmé Absolute Gel Addict Liner in the same colour.
Step 3: Ditch the eye shadow and colour your cheeks a healthy shade of pink from the Lakmé 9 to 5 Pure Rouge Blusher Range.
Step 4: Now that your liner must have dried apply a lot of mascara to add the required drama. Pull your look together with a dark, defining lip colour like the Mauve Cooler or Scarlet Drill from the Lakmé 9 to 5 Range or Coffee Shot from the Lakmé Absolute Gloss Addict Range.
