Why straight brows?
Straight brows give your face a more relaxed, natural look—something that doesn’t make your face look like it’s overly done up. When filled with precision, straight brows can make your face look structured and yet simple—without you having to worry about how fake they look.
Made up your mind about trying the straight brow trend? Now, it’s time to get to work.
First timers, don’t get rid of the arch completely. You can probably tweeze a few strands from the highest tip of the arch for a rounded effect. If the end result looks flattering, you can consider removing the arch.
Step 1: Assess your brow and locate the arch. Then, from the bottom of the inner corner of the brow start drawing a straight line that meets the outer corner of the brow. Make sure that you use a light hand and fill the empty space just below your arch. Draw hair-like strokes using an eyebrow pencil (use a shade lighter than your natural hair colour). We love the Lakmé Absolute Precision Eye Artist Eyebrow Pencil as it comes with a sharp tip that helps you get the strokes on point!
Step 2: Grab a spoolie and start brushing the brow upwards. Then, using the same brow pencil, fill the bald spots if you have any.
Step 3: Using an extremely light hand, fill the top part of your brow such that you cancel out the arch. Remember to not use a lot of product on the inner corners as that can make your straight brow look fake.
Step 4: Use a brow gel to brush any downward pointing hair upwards and set the look.
Pro-tip: As much as you love popping some highlighter on your brow bone, this brow trend will require you to kill that urge. For a simple reason that there’s actually no arch that you will want to highlight. So, leave the highlighter for your cheeks and inner corners of your eyes.
Ta-da! Your boy brows are ready to rock! They’re extremely easy to master and will certainly not give you an overdrawn, fake sorta feel. Impressed, right? We are too!
