Two days into Lakmé Fashion Week and we can tell you that this season to step out of your comfort zone, beauty-wise. Day 2 of LFW, dedicated to sustainable fashion, saw some hauntingly gorgeous looks. While last year, we were obsessing over shimmer and glitter, this year, it’s all about metallic swipes, a ton of highlighter and nude lips. Talking about hairstyles, they are bolder, edgier, quirkier, chicer… phew! Why don’t you see for yourself.

Here is a low-down on all the standout beauty looks and trends we spotted on the second day of Lakmé Fashion Week W/F ’19.

Bubble ponytails, pierced hair and bronzer—C & A foundation and 11.11

Bubble ponytails, pierced hair and bronzer—C & A foundation and 11.11

At the 11.11 Clothing’s runway, we saw models walking the ramp with a bubble shooter made of bamboo. But that’s not the best part. Their hairstyles were cooler and more fun. Hair pierced with organic hair rings and bubble ponytails totally stole the show. As for makeup, it was kept minimal with bronzed cheeks and brown lids, which went well with the organic cotton collection.

There’s party makeup and then there’s Anuj Bhutani’s version of glam. We spotted a brush of metallic silver on the eyelids and eyebrows, and a hell lot of snow dust in the hair. It was a look that was a party in itself. Don’t miss the silver accent detailing on the fingers.

Aavaran Udaipur’s sustainable traditional collection was teamed with a smokey eye, flushed cheeks and nude lip. The embellished braids with silver rings and heavy jhumkis were proof that the festive season has indeed arrived!

The wet hair look is here to stay and the beauty looks on the Antar Agnai and Urvashi Kaur’s runway are proof. The barely-there makeup and slicked-back hair is just the level of glam you’d expect from the ace designers’ shows.

Gold foil accents and messy French twist—Soham Dave, Padmaja, Maku

Gold foil accents and messy French twist—Soham Dave, Padmaja, Maku

On the first day, we saw the blushadow trend that was basically a ruddy hue buffed on the temples. For the Soham Dave, Padmaja and Maku Textile’s show, MUA Namrata Soni gave the models a gold foil accent in place of blush, which added a touch of glitz to the look. Hair was tied in a messy inverse French twist, while a sleek wing on the eyes tied the look together.

Side top knot and bindi art—Abraham and Thakore

Side top knot and bindi art—Abraham and Thakore

The next big top knot trend was debuted at the Abraham and Thakore’s show and we are already in love. This messy side bun with gelled up baby hair is the chicest hairdo we’ve seen in a while. Flawless base makeup, nude lip and fluttery lashes completed the look but it was black and white bindi art on the forehead and across the face that was note-worthy here.
